The UK considers it necessary to urgently increase domestic energy production in order to reduce dependence on supplies from Russia and the Middle East.
Bob Blackman, a member of the British House of Commons, said this in a comment to Guildhall.

“We must urgently introduce new fields in the North Sea for both gas and oil production,” he said.
At the same time, Blackman stressed that domestic production is not necessary by itself, but as an element of reducing external dependence.
“Domestic production is important for reducing dependence on supplies from Russia and the Middle East,” said the British parliamentarian.
He also called for the parallel expansion of other energy areas.
“Greater use of offshore wind power is also needed,” Blackman said.
In addition, according to him, Europe and the UK should seek to increase supplies from other partners.
“We should also encourage Azerbaijan to increase production and supplies,” he added.
Earlier, in a comment to Guildhall, Yarand Ristad, CEO of Rystad Energy, said that the European Union needs to comprehensively strengthen energy sustainability, from the accelerated development of energy generation and storage systems to the modernization of power grids and the electrification of key sectors.
